Who: Amy and Song
What: Surprise!
Where: Rainbow's End
When: Wednesday June 6th, morning

Amy paced back and forth in front of the closed bathroom door, sparing a glance at it now and again and scowling. It was nothing. She'd used too much magic fighting, that was all. So she was still feeling worn out. Why shouldn't she? Mabry was off trying to save the world (or at least two small parts of it), she herself was trying to be a mom to an extra kid - and Song - she banished that thought before sighing. She'd made sure Jalen had taken Eli and Ashlyn down to breakfast before she'd gotten started on this. She didn't want him to know...not yet. A quick glance at the clock on the nightstand confirmed it was time, and she took a deep breath before going back into the bathroom. It'd be negative, no big deal, things would go on as they had been...Not that she wouldn't be thrilled, it was just...bad timing.

"When is it ever good timing?" Amy muttered to herself. She bit her lip and picked the stick up from where she'd left it on the counter, stared at it, then dropped it in the sink with a clatter.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"

Song stared back at Amy calculatingly, silent just long enough to be ominous. Then she offered a smirk.

"Oh, it's not important. not as important as planning how to tell everyone the news."

Song's expression tensed to a point somewhere between dismissive and impatient. "Well, you know I love to talk about myself, but I don't see how its relevant now." She twisted her own newly acquired bracelet. "I'm not going anywhere. So," she stubbornly hopped back to the more exciting topic, "I bet you already have some names in mind. I know you plan that kind of thing before the fact."

"Elena, wasn't it?" Song asked innocently, choosing to ignore the comment on her behavior. "Like you said, though, only if it's a girl. Isaiah's an interesting one, but he'd need a nickname, and if you don't give him one first, it'll be Izzy." She grinned, savoring the silly name as a sort of threat.

"Call him Isa, I'll have to hunt down the former Number Seven and tell him he's someone's namesake. Come to think about it, it'd be nice to see him anyway. I miss the semi-aggressive banter." She sighed wistfully, but was unable to keep a completely straight face.
"And there was that one time Xemnas threatened to fight him if he barged in on us during the Three Days. I almost wish that had happened, just for the show..."
Nostalgia was at least something ordinary for Song. Then again, she might have been putting on such a display specifically for that reason.

Song gave Amy a deceptively bland look at the change of topic, blinking mildly a few times before responding.

"I beat her."

Of course she would leave a statement like that unexplained, going directly against her passion for exposition and detail.

Now she honestly did look surprised. "I'm... not acting."

It was easy, of course, to guess at what Amy suspected. "Amy, it's me." she waved the bracelet under her friend's nose, sounding hurt. "Seriously. I didn't beat her, beat her, but I... kind of... took the offensive, and she wasn't expecting that. She couldn't defend against it, because of this," another wave of her wrist. "So I just... took back what was mine. Some of it, anyway." She rolled her bottom lip between her teeth, as she always did when she felt uncertain.
