Who: Song and Amy
What: It's a Warding party! Okay, not really.
Where: Rainbow's End
When: July 16th
Books were scattered over the table in the library, along with a few other odds and ends useful for warding a structure. It'd taken them a couple days, but Amy was almost sure they had the right books now. Finding a warding spell that wouldn't have some sort of side effect was a little difficult; the first couple that she found drained the caster as long as they were in effect. Then again, that spell came from the same book as Barrier. Total last resort she'd told herself, and closed the book. The spell she was wrinkling her nose at now didn't have that problem, but she really wished they knew what Mabry had used. Asking her was always an option, but who knew when she'd be able to get back to them? Song's hair was turning black, Awiergan was showing up in places she didn't belong. They needed to do this now, even if reinforcing the current wards with another kind of magic wasn't the best idea.
"So do you wanna go with this one," And here she wiggled the book in Song's direction. "Or the one you found? And seriously, if we need to burn Sage for any of this, you're on your own. Yeeach."

Date: 2012-07-17 07:37 pm (UTC)She watched Song twist her hair, and found herself bouncing slightly from one foot to the other. Pent up emotions, yay. She really wanted to hug Song, but wasn't sure if she'd appreciate it right this moment.
Hell with it.
Amy slipped over, hugged her lightly, then stepped back so fast she found herself wondering what the point had been. She grinned a bit awkwardly at her friend.
"Sorry, I- yeah, I'm just weird, but you know that...um. So the spell says we need to 'focus energies' and 'direct them at each corner of the space to be warded'. Which seems kinda like a 'duh' thing to me, but..."
Amy trailed off and waved a hand helplessly. She thought she'd be okay at this, but maybe not. Still, it had to be done.

"Don't have to burn anything, all it needs is focus and some silly words. Oh, and Will, can't forget that."
She laughed for a second, the idea suddenly striking her as funny.

Date: 2012-07-18 10:51 am (UTC)She pushed herself up and pushed the frazzled mess of her hair out of her face. It was finally growing long again now that her other self had stopped re-cutting it for the sake of disguise.
It was she who led the way to each of the warding points, and each time she reached out with a strand of magic, it was her shadow who touched and tainted the ward. Oh so subtly, Medrau planted a seed deep under the layered skin of the spell. In time it would grow, corrupting and weakening the ward until it meant nothing.
Which had, of course, been the point of making Song fret over them in the first place.
The bracelet would be another matter, but "Meddy" had plans for that too.

She hugged Song again, just a bit longer this time, then disappeared off on her errand, smiling. She felt safer already.
