Seph walked straight through some flaming debris instead of going around. He ignored or didn't notice that he pretty much recreated a certain scene in a certain game with that move. Just with a different background.

The fact that he'd somehow ended up in a familiar leather coat he hadn't been wearing before the spell was cast probably didn't help.
